About This Resource

Your Support System - My Heart Puzzle

Explore with students who is in their support system. Who are the people they can count on? Then have students reflect on how they can support others.

Using Strategies - Coloring & Bookmark

Introduce coping skills to elementary students by explaining that we can use strategies to manage our emotions. Color note cards and a strategy bookmark are included. The coloring pages provide a practice opportunity for students to use a mindful minute and drawing to manage overwhelming feelings.

The strategy bookmark helps students consider what strategies work for them and also serves as a reminder when the activity is complete.

Great Resource for Therapy Groups

I used the heart puzzle and the heart chats with children's therapy group (ages 7-11) and they loved them! Easy to understand and facilitate. I gave them the coloring cards as a take home activity. Will use this in the future as well! Highly recommend.

Easy and engaging SEL activities. Cute ideas to fit the month of February. The conversation hearts was a favorite and it did work as a good icebreaker. I think the heart puzzle was also a good way for students to see different support systems. When they shared them it helped others think about support they do have that maybe did not come to mind at first.

I used the My Heart Puzzle activity with my 3rd graders this year and they really enjoyed it! It's hard sometimes for kids to be able to identify their support systems or even understanding how a support system works! This was a great activity to supplement that lesson. I will continue to use this resource yearly!
