About
This lesson focuses on students understanding what affects their self-esteem, determining what areas they do and do not feel competent in, planning to improve valued skills, and recognizing support.
Students base their self-esteem on how competent they feel in an area they think is necessary. When a student has low self-esteem, we must focus on what is causing the low self-esteem and not just on boosting the student with positive thinking and praise.
Ideal for
This lesson is ideal for small groups, individual counseling, or advisory groups. It can be modified to use with larger groups, but it would not follow the lesson plan.
